The best he could hope for is an accomplice to pick him up in an automobile. They'll set up ring-perimeters and there's pretty much just Rt. 15 and a twist of back-roads that he doesn't actually know and will just result in getting lost, stuck, stranded, out of gas, etc...

The nearest town is tiny - they can't hunker down and hide there. People are gonna notice that. It's also where guards live, probably. That's a horrible idea, assuming one wants to escape and stay escaped.

Yeah, they're pretty fucked.

It's so safe that they stuck a murderous old man there - who has a history of escape.

I kinda want to root for him. I hope he's got like a cane and turns out to be a doddering old man who takes the Maine DOC employees on a merry chase that's best viewed as a comedy movie. Some sort of Keystone Kops kind of deal. Silent movie slapstick that came from vaudeville.

Gotta admit, that'd be pretty sweet!

That would make a great movie! I won't buy a ticket though, I'll wait for it to come out on VHS. I hate going to movies anymore. Maybe it's just because I'm getting old, but everything I've seen in a theater of late seems to have the most annoying sound tracks imaginable. The local theaters blast the audio so damn loud you can't hear yourself think, which may be the point ... but to me, it's just too irritating. When they blow up a car, I don't need to actually feel like I'm in the car with them as the sound effects reverberate through my body. Plus the soundtracks in general, suck ...

Yeah, I'd probably not actually watch the movie - I'd actually read the newspaper. I try not to even do that!

Do you still keep up with current affairs?

It depends on whose affairs. By yes, I suppose. General news of interest to me (which varies widely) anyway ... not much into what passes as news in many places though.
