My parents watch four different news stations religiously, everyday. Until I told them at Christmas, they did not know who Antifa or BLM was, nor were they aware there had been riots across the country for the previous 9 months or so. They looked at me like a little kid who got caught telling a fib, because there was just no way they could be so well informed and somehow not know that. Coronavirus keeping people apart has severely impacted people's ability to converse about these matters. If you barely get to see loved ones, you aren't likely to toss out "can you believe the rioting in Portland has reached it's 90th day in a row?!" because you are simply glad to see them.
