Interviewer: Good [time of reading], everyone. I am sitting down with one of Poal's most fabulous users: starjello. Starjello's here today to give us a bit of Poal history for all you new people out there. Tell us starjello, precious above rubies, what have these newer folks possibly missed?
starjello: Thank you darling, but I think I used the "precious above rubies" line before.
I: I know, but it's just so funny to say.
s: True. Anyway, I'm here to bring up @HansWormhat. Hans was a mix of things. He spiced things up, but he was also trouble. In the beginning, I noticed there were these odd posts calling celebrities transsexual so I looked at them more closely and noticed that were posted by the same user. As I was always destined to be Poal's Journalist Extraordinaire, I dug through this man's posting history and discovered he also didn't believe in outer space or great apes.
I: I've heard your understanding of Hans evolved. Can you elaborate?
s: I initially suspected he was joking, but over time I worried he was serious. Was he angry at the existence of music on Poal? A little. Did he hate subs about Hawaii, HD wallpapers (but not the low resolution kind), and other interests that exist outside his own? Yes he did. But he deserved some measure of sympathy in my book.
I: Sympathy? That's interesting. So when you cheered on a sub dedicated to his mockery, that was your pity?
s: I defended...
I: And @Wawhite13 politely told you that you failed to recognize a threat. While we're on the subject of pity, why is it that drawing attention to someone's beliefs in order ridicule them is okay, but negative red numbers are just too far? This is why @Chips, among assumably many more, thought you were a shill.
s: I deserved the clap back, he was a shill in the end. I always admit to being an idiot, but @Chips (@chags?) thinks I'm pretty and I even had an admin vouch in my favor that I'm no shill. Oh and down votes are strictly for spam, not posts you don't like. We're about free speech, not punishing unpopular speech. You have to express disagreement with a comment or move on. We adore and encourage engagement with others in a civil manner.
I: You could only afford the gay admin's support and Chips won't call you. Plus you have a fairy white supremacist voice like Richard Spencer. Are you really him?
s: No, I'm not as handsome or stupid as Richard Spencer. He couldn't hope to match me. Perhaps my insecurities are slightly bleeding through, but at least I'm not as delusional as tyranical admin @AOU. Captain Mystery Letters keeps pushing this /s/Poalbucks nonsense. I was very keen to call that scam out. /s/MugbackExchange is the only true banking sub of Poal. The First Bank of Mugbacks held a reparations program and paved the way for future Poal-related financial endeavors.
I: Mugbacks must be really cool, huh?
s: That is true, mugbacks are an important part of Poal, but not as much as the /s/PoalCast.
I: Poal's very own podcast? How does that work?
s: Every Sunday at around 9:00 PM EST. You can go using Mumble. There are various apps and the sub for the cast explains that you don't need a password. Just have the app or client and you can connect and join the Poalcast or even just chat with people who are there. It's really cool.
I: What about the minichat?
s: You have to be a certain level high enough to use/see it. This is to prevent people from ruining it. I don't use it much, but I hear it's fun. Tom (bot and user) is funny @Boone and @Durm are solid users known to be there. @1quickdub is also known to post movies at night for a movie night. It's pretty cool.
I: Closing thoughts?
s: What's a "thought"?
I: Thus concludes this Starjello Sitdown. If you wish to join the SS simply comment below or send me a PM and we'll work something out. Have a nice [time of finishing]!
