If it was flu rebranded the death rates would have stayed within the same range they have done for the last few years, however that is not the case, so it cannot be flu.

That's a ridiculously disingenuous source for that kind of statistics, did you get that from reddit? The death rates ARE in the same reasonable range they have been for the last decades.
