Yes, that is true. Cul-de-sac is just fancy wurds for "Dead end with a bulge." If you throw the words "cul de sac" into mechanical translators, it will probably come back as "dead end."

I once lived at the end of a street. All the rest of the street was XXX Street. The last block that I lived on had about 12 houses and was labelled XXX Circle. In the 4 years we lived there we could get packages sent by UPS, but FedEx said it was an unknown address and wouldn't deliver. If we ordered something that could only be delivered by FedEx we had to have it delivered to a friends address.

My folks get that too. They live on a township road that only has a number, and the actual address for years was something like TR 2202.

Mail systems couldn't handle it and we lived everywhere (according to the address,) a Trailer to a Terrace Apartment.

Now I live in a small town, 3 blocks from the Post Office, but I have to pay for a PO Box because they won't deliver to my house because it is less that 1 mile away.
