My understanding the difference between 'cul de sac' and 'dead end' is: A 'Dead End' is when the road/street with properties on either side just come to a termination of the road without widening. A 'Cul de Sac' comes to a widened circular area with room for vehicles to turn around.
Yes, that is true. Cul-de-sac is just fancy wurds for "Dead end with a bulge." If you throw the words "cul de sac" into mechanical translators, it will probably come back as "dead end."
I once lived at the end of a street. All the rest of the street was XXX Street. The last block that I lived on had about 12 houses and was labelled XXX Circle. In the 4 years we lived there we could get packages sent by UPS, but FedEx said it was an unknown address and wouldn't deliver. If we ordered something that could only be delivered by FedEx we had to have it delivered to a friends address.
