Every year I watch fewer and fewer new series and movies.
A dying industry
It's not dying! Do we call a cancer "dying" when it is spreading and growing all over the body?
Your analogy makes zero sense.
It is Dying. You can look up viewer ship and ratings for any platform and see it for yourself. Just because there are more shows/movies does not mean more people watch. The overwhelming growth of bad shows and movies proves they are a dying industry. They are literally trying to cover every scenario in a last ditch effort to try and find content that will keep people hooked.
Ahem: "Diversity" (the cancer) is everywhere, spreading and thriving, while our mythology and entertainment (the patient) suffers.
Lots of shows do very poorly now.
