I remember I used to be able to set a 3-30 second time-frame that the text message would move to the message list as 'sent,' but it would have an 'X' next to the text. If I hit the 'X', the text would pop right back into the edit box. It was a feature I used religiously since I am a typo machine. I have tried a multitude of different text apps that claim to have the same feature, but for one reason or another they don't work the same rendering the whole effect is pointless. I have no idea why they would remove a feature that is already part of the native SMS app that was a non-default option.
A random video showing the effect (youtu.be)
It's been a few years since I gave up looking for an alternative, so I will likely take a look around again.
What used to be a rarity in the golden age, has grown into a serious dread of users.
Useful features have been removed from newer versions of software (e.g. browsers, operating systems, websites) or successors of electronic devices such as mobile phones (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S6)?
A highly demanded feature of a product, software, etc. has still not been implemented?
There is a behavioural change in a newer version (e g. Firefox MozLZ4 instead of plain text) that just makes things worse?
Don't you despise the removal of good and useful features?
