The Old Order - Mutual Submission

(1) Women are sociologically 'protected' by the male husband. This includes protection both physically (marginal isolation) and psychologically (in terms of the male's moral authority).

(2) The primary institution for the pairing of marriage-age men and women is the Church, or other Church-affiliated proximal and community-based social networks.

(3) The Church is the prosocial nexus for the meeting of people with shared norms, values, and ritual commitments. These commitments act as a further means to strengthen in-group obligations and cohesion. Religious beliefs in transcendent moral law form the glue of social trust.

(4) The male-only nature of the workplace allows for regular kinds of competition, and male disagreeability functions to negotiate hierarchical rules and leadership decisions. When competition is primarily merit-based, hierarchies automatically segregate into the most effective bargaining units, maintaining the productive antagonism between labor and employers. A useful flow of energy proceeds through the system and is embedded in superior, industrious outcomes.

(5) Women are functionally separated and assume active roles within the domicile, focusing on activities such as child-rearing and nurturing, in addition to general hygienic and logistical activities such as food-prep, list-making, organization and household planning. Her fulfillment of responsibilities in this domain relieves the male in terms of his ability to focus on competing/performing maximally in the workplace, serving the financial interests of his family. This separation of respective powers ensures that each domain (work and home) receive maximal care.

(6) Absence of women in labor economies keeps the wages for male workers high, while a situation favoring progressive earning potential exists due to the dynamic equilibrium resulting from male-male competition. It is recognized that female personality traits, such as agreeability, tend to favor wage stasis and stagnation, largely because the regular antagonism of labor toward the employer is diminished.

(7) The overall paradigm established per the Old Order parallels the life-rehearsal witnessed in the school system. Males set out amongst themselves to play sports in which they compete to gain the favor of women. The separation of their respective activities is responsible for the 'voltage potential' that drives energy through the entire ecosystem. Man wants to play well enough for woman to wear his jersey, and she wants to be chosen by the apple of her eye.

The New Order - Liberation

(1) Women are not protected by the male husband. They are liberated from the physical islands of the domicile and also psychologically from his moral authority. They move freely across a multitude of social contexts, submitting themselves to the predominant authority in any public domain, leaving 'North' on her moral compass extricated from her husband's influence.

(2) The primary institution for the pairing of marriage-age women to men is the university or the workplace. New technological means of date-seeking arise to meet the new secular demands of men and women who navigate tenuous professional and personal boundaries.

(3) The Church has ceased to be the predominant social nexus for people to meet, thus, shared norms, values, and ritual commitments cease to play a role in the environment selecting for male-female attraction. Instead, a highly superficial set of criteria for mate selection comes to predominate, largely at the mercy of consumer-cultural trends, and one's ability to construct virtual 'sales pitches' via social media. These fictions and frivolities uncouple people's claims about themselves from their real-world behaviors and personalities.

(4) Women's entrance into the workplace disrupts regular competitive dynamics due to her irreconcilably different mode of competing. Hers is a strategy based largely on reputation-making activities by way of commiserating and gossip through the 'hen house'. The movement away from merit-based outcomes, combined with introduction of her agreeability to authority, causes laborers as a whole to lose cohesion and bargaining power against employers.

(5) The domicile becomes a largely sterile, functional space, consisting in a place for couples to spend their increasingly diminished time outside of work. Children raised in the 'new home' find themselves in little more than a halfway house from which both parents come and go. Houses cease to be the remarkably safe and loving spaces which depend on the presence of a dedicated matriarch.

Culture begins to favor the modern workplace taking on the shallow appearance of home, and employers are incentivized to create workplaces with the 'comforts of home' in order to extract the maximum productivity from employees. No longer is each day structured by the upward trending curve toward the '5 o'clock homecoming', that is, where a family can actively anticipate their reunion at day's end by joining each other for a meal.

Instead of experiencing a personal appreciation for her domestic tasks and the degree of care she has taken toward the home, a wife relegates herself to the uniquely under-appreciating and thankless existence of the male workplace, thereby losing an obvious structure by way of which she could otherwise have derived deep value. She is taken down from the pedestal of the matriarch, and homes diminish to become walls and roofs.

(6) The presence of women in the workforce drives down all wages, acting also like positive feedback on the requirement for more women to enter the workforce - creating a viscous cycle. This drives down the earning potential of the husband. There is simultaneous stagnation in the upward trend of wages. Differences in competitive behaviors with respect to promotion-seeking works to generate workplace tension by highlighting discrepancies between male and female strategies.

(7) The natural 'voltage potential' that existed between men and women in the Old Order is diffused by equality. The game ceases to be a game because everyone in the bleachers has been put on the field of play. At some point, we might expect people to ask, "Why are we even playing?"

If social justice causes legislation and corporate policy to artificially elevate women over men in the workplace, she will come to resent the very males with whom she competes. In terms of her respect, she will be turned against the very men who - being productive and ambitious - were once the objects of her attraction.

Instead, she will find herself attracted to men acting defiantly and outside of the hierarchy completely. We don't simply mean miscreants or criminals (nor do we rule these out), but men who set themselves apart from the hierarchy to which she is now growing accustomed (and bored).

Her natural inclination toward attraction to what she is not (that is, to select players on the field from her seat in the stands) means that she will look elsewhere, for novelty in men that deviates from her norm.

Imagine that in the Old Order the things which attracted women were represented by a smooth curve. Since her new status now causes her to fill up the middle range of society, her 'attraction graph' becomes highly polarized: she will lust for those at the heights of the hierarchy she inhabits, or males deviating from society's rules altogether: athletes, rappers, celebrities, pretty-boy playthings, or even delinquents of the social order living criminal or 'alternative' lifestyles. Her triumph over the productive segments of society will see her chasing wanderlust, and anything she must do to be valued for something other than her income and job title. In fact, the seeming absence of her ability to be valued in ways that gratify her femininity may cause her to pursue adjacent channels for value, and perhaps in the pornographic world of the 21st century, we'd even think this would include porn itself. If the biological world convinces her against her pursuit of feminine value in the home, it shouldn't surprise us that she might seek it elsewhere in the digital world. The woman of the New Order has closed herself off from motherhood and wifedom, leaving by proxy her sexual value as the only universally acceptable means of being woman. I believe that this tendency results from a deep subconscious yearning to be valued in ways that both she and society are cannibalizing.
