Say you download a video or audio file "Mp4 or mp3 specifically" and you open it and even though the name is right the name in the video player is not even close and you want to change it. Well you could use vlc and open them one at a time. YOu could instead download a small program to change them quickly one by one by opening the directory and have them processed when you finish them all that you want to change. I just found a program using synaptic pkg manager to do this pretty fast and simple. It's called easytag and can be used for mp3's that are already encoded since you can change that with audacity when reencoding an mp3 already. It also works with mp4 video files without reencoding the entire video and just reencoding the metadata. There is more info for other file types but those are the ones I tried tonight already. https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/EasyTAG Use your package installer on your OS and don't download since it's simple and safe that way.
