I just updated MX linux, took me almost 40 seconds, glad I didn't have to reboot. That typing in my password took almost 5 seconds also.

yeah, I do like that my firmware and programs are all updated also. It's a lot of hassle in windows to go to all the hardware manufacturers and see "Oh a video driver update and it's only 300MBs" now it's oh an update, "this update frees 600k on your hard drive, do you want it" fuck yeah I do.

Ah, but microsoft is a hardware manufacturer now. If you buy windows hardware it all gets updated with the system. :p it just isn't guaranteed to work. expect to do lots of unplugging and plugging stuff back in or rebooting randomly to bring hardware back to life.

Yeah hardware, locked down shit is more like it like the old apple model where flash video was not allowed. Yeah microsoft could fuckup a wet dream. I love my linux and only spread the gospel of the real OS.

I want a tablet form factor with camera, touch screen, and digitalizer (pen). Currently I've only found the surface to meet my needs, i'm never going to lug around a wacom and bulky 'desktop replacement portable notebook" again, and I cannot use a desktop. I'm just waiting for linux hardware to catch up to that so I can get back off windows again.
