I just updated MX linux, took me almost 40 seconds, glad I didn't have to reboot. That typing in my password took almost 5 seconds also.

How can you stand wasting all your time like that? 45 seconds! Such a sad story.

Some else has the sarcasm talent. Glad to meet you, great reply. The windows users have no idea how great is it not having to put up with windows bullshit, it's like going from a crappy car that sputters and stalls to a high performance sports car with all the extras.

But if my updates don't require gigs to download and hours to install along with numerous reboots I might not notice that my system just received a major update! I might go around assuming the programs I had installed yesterday are still around, that commands do the same things and that the buttons are all in the same places as the day before..

yeah, I do like that my firmware and programs are all updated also. It's a lot of hassle in windows to go to all the hardware manufacturers and see "Oh a video driver update and it's only 300MBs" now it's oh an update, "this update frees 600k on your hard drive, do you want it" fuck yeah I do.

Ah, but microsoft is a hardware manufacturer now. If you buy windows hardware it all gets updated with the system. :p it just isn't guaranteed to work. expect to do lots of unplugging and plugging stuff back in or rebooting randomly to bring hardware back to life.

Yeah hardware, locked down shit is more like it like the old apple model where flash video was not allowed. Yeah microsoft could fuckup a wet dream. I love my linux and only spread the gospel of the real OS.
