Remember though, if you use nvidia cards some desktop environments are better like xfce since you have xorg so you can install the closed source driver blob, if you use wayland it's a no go at least for me. So study up on the system and see reviews and comments on your hardware if it isn't written in black and white on the distro's home page forum. Have fun and hope this gives you an excuse to explore. If your using debian/ubuntu and mint only then maybe it's time to try a nice face arch based distro though some such some like manjaro or garuda or endevour are great beautiful and moderately simple to use and get used to.
