This is great news for KDE since they use the xwayland in thier setups I read sometime recently and of course gnome uses straight wayland so no nvidia going there but kde would smooth out a lot with real support for nvidia hardware. This is something "more nvidia hardware support in linux" I hoped would happen back in 2018 or so. I guess better late than never and I hope the support is significant enough so that everything just works properly.
