Went through a ton of distro's like Mint xfce, Pop OS from another post, Mabox "manjaro fork with openbox" was using 4k tv and found open box doesn't just change font sizes and didn't see a dpi anywhere's, mx linux, and last night took the 4k tv and swapped it out with my older sanyo full hdmi tv.
Now finally got nvidia with cuda support on linux mint cinnamon after almost 2 month with shitty manjaro xfce buggy as fuck. Got the nvidia cuda toolkit installed and now I'm trying to figure out the programming and all the stuff that is downloadable for free. I'd like to create a plugin for gimp or a video editor plugin filter or just something basic I've been upset was not available in linux like all the plugins that I used to use on virtual dub back 10 years ago in xp but for 64bit linux and try to make it not dependent on a distro or specific hardware only so it is able to be used by almost anyone on linux.
The feeling of seeing the gpu usage percent hit just 28% while having a bunch of windows and tabs "around 40 total while studying this entirely new tool that I didn't imagine would have so much free stuff to just use as I please to invent almost anything I can teach myself to do. Not a programmer, my hacks consist of just doing shit different or editing an ini file that is in english, no programming languages learned though some html or css but nothing like C or even Java just cli commands.
So if you are having trouble with an nvidia card and want it more simple to install then try out mint cinnamon, all by the package manager. Now the con of mint, the os setup samba shares but did not install samba so all my partition on my WD sata drive would not mount. The sight actually had experienced people telling newbs how to edit "basically" the fstab. Well I posted not to do that and just install samba but not samba2k since to many kde files get installed with 2k. Well that's my share time so later, gonna go visit the next door neighbor and hang in the man cave "the have a neon sign that says man cave so I can use that title honestly and it's even got a 24/7 running woodstove.
