I do this everytime I install a new distro. I have a qualcomm wifi chip and it uses the ath9k driver "very popular" now it's slow as fuck till I do this. /etc/modprobe.d/ath9k.conf options ath9k nohwcrypt=1 This disables hardware encrytion and then your connection flies like 50x faster because your wifi hardware is not being overwelled and just does it's shit. Just go to your system files and open etc folder as root now scroll down to modprobe.d and open. Mine is usually empty make a file and name it ath9k.conf options and then open it and type ath9k nohwcrypt=1 and save, restart computer and your system will be fast as fuck on the internet. If your not sure what your driver is and you have a pci card then open terminal and type lspci -k and just scroll down to your wifi controller. If your usb then use lsusb instead for a dongle.
