Brave just upgraded their browser for Linux and many users are unable to open it afterwards. (I was one of them.)

Support said it's a known bug and pointed me here for workarounds: https://github.com/brave/brave-browser/issues/49160

I followed these steps that I found there and reverted to the previous version: * I determined previous version was available using snap list --all brave * Used sudo snap revert brave to roll back * Used sudo snap refresh --hold brave to prevent updates and will unhold once it's fixed

Of course, I could have just installed a new instance and imported my saved bookmarks, but who wants to use an unstable browser?

Hope this helps.

If it’s known then why fucking release?

It's a known result from the release. They're working on a fix.
