I used to run fedora as a primary for a long time. This was partially because it is the RH spin for desktop/workstation..
I kind of gave up on it. Debian bases are more popular and I am tired of fixing random shit and writing it up so it "works on rhel/fedora/etc". Maybe that will change one day but my preference was based on it being a industry thing...
I don't even care anymore. It's so easy to jump around and sometimes I just spin up a VM of something else since its easier. I don't have all of the time in the world to do this shit anymore.
Someday soon (I swear) ill bring my old websites back online that I documented all of that and will add new docs to it. It just wont be today, maybe after the new year.
Glad to hear your experiences with Fedora. I haven't used it since 2010. Getting tired of Manjaro and their fuckery, and was thinking of moving to a new daily driver. Fedora was on the short list. Might rethink it now.
lazy mode is Mint. It works, its a Deb/Ubu offshoot there is plenty to not like about it if you have been running *nix for a long time but if it is a daily driver its got a large community and mostly just works.
I know I already told you that you can DM me if you want but I am also a tech nerd so you can DM me about that too. I also have a self-hosted remote support system if you are trusting and need help with something.
Mint is on my short list also, but the big issue with it is the host it's drawing from. I know they've disabled Snaps by default, but as Ubuntu keeps going down it's rabbit hole, the offshoots like Mint and Pop will eventually have to make hard choices. I DO like Cinnamon a lot though. My current install uses KDE, and it has annoying shit that I never had using a GTK based DE.
I may just suck it up and do an Arch install script, cause the AUR is a hard bitch to quit. Dunno yet. Have to wait till next month, regardless, cause Comcast has a shitty data cap in my area
