Does this mean all games on Steam will now run on Linux? That would sure be nice.
I love my steam deck. I can't believe how well Proton works after all the fights I've had with Wine over the years. It would be nice if more devs had native Linux clients but when they also have to compile for consoles I see why they would just rely on letting Valve tweak an emulator.
I will never forget the hours I spent getting Fallout 3 to work on my Linux box the day it came out. I learned I couldn't look directly at a pressure cooker and had to run around in third person. It was so funny running into a house and looking at the floor when entering a kitchen because the second I looked at a pressure cooker I would crash.
Lately I've even been using my steam deck docked with the TV at my friend's and we have been playing Satisfactory. I really thought it would be impossible to play. We figured if it didn't work then I'd just stream from my desktop next door over the Internet (that works surprisingly well, too).
They almost all do already.
