They’re making the output of the `apt` command more readable and informative. Other than that they’re not changing what it does. `apt` is the friendly, user facing command line interface to Apt. The `apt-get` command is the more stable command line interface to Apt that is meant to be used by automated tools. `apt-get` is not changing at all. Improvements like this are what `apt` was created for.
