These changes would only affect GNOME and the session. Apps would still be able to use X11 through Xwayland.
Fine by me.
I still run a few solid, legacy X11 apps, and I use X11 forwarding for clipboard sharing and occasionally running apps remotely. So long as those things still work I’m fine.
I don’t run Fedora, but I’m assuming Debian and Ubuntu based distros will remove X11 in a similar way.
