You think so? I haven't thought about it like that. When I talk to leftists they often don't seem to understand, or recognize, inconsistencies like this. They are not at the top of the food chain though. Now that I think about it, average people don't value truth as highly as I/we, and many use language not as a medium to communicate truths but use it as tool to get what they want. Maybe people don't care about being inconsistent, they just don't care, they are not interested in being consistent. I still find this surprising.
