First and foremost, it should be made clear that switching entirely to Wayland and removing support for X11 currently only affects the Fedora KDE Plasma spin and is at the proposal stage. Whether it will be accepted as final is yet to be seen, but initial expectations are that it will happen.

Considering Fedora KDE spin is what I use in all of my desktops at home, I hope people yell about keeping X11 support. Make Wayland the default; I don't care about that. Removing X11 support altogether would suck immensely.

"Wayland Is (Almost) Ready for Prime Time"

A word smith's way of saying, not ready for broad adoption. When it's stable and enjoys broad GPU and application compatibility and provides the same functionality, it will be ready for prime time. It currently enjoys none of those.

Gonna kill gaming performance and compatibility. I hope they backtrack on this ideal. Wayland isn't ready yet for primetime
