There were a couple of people that I'd never interacted with that had me blocked, never could figure that out. One of them was a bluepill back when I was still orange.
A little off topic, but why doesn't any of these alternate laptop sellers just offer pure Debian on their devices? It's all Ubuntu remixes or something.

Probably the user interface. The different skins are more or less newb friendly and then there's the name recognition. People recognize Ubuntu even when they know nothing of Linux
