KDE has improved a lot since the days of 4.0 and the initial 5.0 release. I switched to it form Gnome, when those devs continually broke extensions on a whim at every point release. Frankly, I've never been happier with that decision.

I'll give it a shot. It looks good and cohesive. It's been years since I've touched an x-BSD or Linux distro. Same experience with Gnome after 2 dropped.

I really wanted a comprehensive DE for nix platforms, but they never seemed coherent, so I went the polar opposite route by using ultra lightweight WMs like FluxBox, then later XFCE. Constantly managing shit with terminals got real old after a while and I just threw in the towel.
