Thanks, good story and I didn't realize this was a thing so it's great it's being closed. I've been waiting for some mole in Linux or a devious contributor to get something into the kernel to take down millions of PC's and servers. I see they found one but I'm sure there are a dozen like this in common 3rd party programs like python and others that update a lot so nailing something down might not work when change is often.

Unauthorized Access is usually done through the Bios now.

I did not know that. I do have a long bios password if that helps mitigate any problems but it likely won't if it's well made almost nothing short of making the bios read only but then you'd have a lot of fun opening up a computer to update the bios. Mine you have to hit and hold a tiny red button next to a usb1 port top back of the backplate, that is required to be pushed down when rebooting out of bios into update mode on bios updates.
