My personal experiences with various forms of Linux -- sooner or later (usually sooner) the OS would bugger up and stop working entirely, and there was no obvious way to recover, forcing a complete uninstall. Windows may be flawed, but when it buggers up, there is always some way to bring it back. That's why people don't switch.

I've had the complete opposite experience myself, but forget our own experiences- there's a reason why linux is the default choice for most server architectures.
