Firefox will continue to be distributed as .deb packages through the official Linux Mint repositories. Its configuration and the way it is built is changing to make the Linux Mint version of Firefox much more similar (almost identical in fact) to the version which is distributed by Mozilla.

In the past Linux Mint used its own default settings and configured Firefox in a specific way. Most of this configuration is abandoned to go back to Mozilla defaults.

The default start page no longer points to https://www.linuxmint.com/start/ The default search engines no longer include Linux Mint search partners (Yahoo, DuckDuckGo…) but Mozilla search partners (Google, Amazon, Bing, DuckDuckGo, Ebay…) The default configuration switches from Mint defaults to Mozilla defaults. Firefox no longer includes code changes or patches from Linux Mint, Debian or Ubuntu.

Yeah, this just serves to prove what I have thought for a while. Mint is a overrated, dying distro.

Mozilla will make a fine, politically correct casket for them.

Yeah, this just serves to prove what I have thought for a while. Mint Firefox is a overrated, dying distro browser.

PWAHAHAHAAHA!

You're overrated my friend, linux user for 17+ years fuck off

I've recently been considering a move away from Mint to a distro that doesn't use systemd.

This just made that a higher priority.

Devuan (devuan.org) or openBSD (openbsd.org) - to game, or not to game?

to game, or not to game?

If you ask such question you aren't serious. Buy a playstation and fuck off

You are evidently going to lag several months behind every software version, conservative estimate, you'll always have the old versions of everything
