dosemu2 is a virtual machine that allows you to run DOS programs under linux. It was started as an attempt to re-incarnate the famous dosemu project under GPLv2+ license (dosemu1 license is controversial), but have grown into an entirely new project with different ideas, goals and code. Also it has a much wider scope than dosemu1 had: instead of just being a virtual machine, we also develop our own 64-bit DOS

neither joytokey nor xmapper work for DOS emu with the PS4 controller. Sucks.

Try this (x360ce.com) program called "XBOX360 Controller Emulator." Maybe tricking your computer into using xinput driver instead of directinput driver with this software will fix the PS4 controller not working in DosBOX issue. I don't know for sure, just something I think might work for you.

No, the problem is that dosbox recognizes the controller as a serial controller no matter what, and will not allow more than 4 direction inputs and 4 total button inputs.

I use x360ce_x64, DS4Windows, JoyToKey, and Xmapper depending on the game. I need to get a chatpad so I can just use the controller without need to touch the keyboard or mouse to completely control my computer
