Isn't there already DOSBox, and a few others? What does dosemu2 add to the table?
I dunno about the emulator, but this part seems pretty interesting:
we also develop our own 64-bit DOS
Too bad there won't really be any native software written for it... its one piece of native software probably be its translating 16-bit code to 64-bit and running it...
Wine for winblows but I think it'll do dos too.
If I can keybind a PS4 controller to keyboard inputs instead of being limited to 4 buttons, the d-pad, and a mouse then I'm in. Descent only works with 2 sidewinders through an old gameport that you will only get on an old AT mobo or going full keyboard.

I can barely get this to work on actual hardware. Don't have 2 sidewinders, just one sidewinder as CH flight stick and a regular 3-axis 2 button. It kind of works, on Tuesdays, when wind is blowing SSE at 12 MPH.
That's why only keyboard mapping works for Descent. WASD and IJKL for movement with QE/OU and Space/Alt/Ctrl for main keys.
If dosemu2 can do keymapping to the gamepad then I will completely abandon dosbox.
e: Oh, and 4D _+4 action isn't even good enough for Redneck Rampage.
