Manjaro and Openbox and no system D. Now I read a while back that you needed system D for nvidia proprietary drivers but I am system D free and using the proprietary drivers at this time.

Not super fast and the tint2 is kind of a pain in the but to setup because like MX used to be the settings are all over the place and it takes a while to get used to which settings area controls tint2 and what just controls openbox.

Now smplayer runs fast so does Firefox. PCmanfm runs well and has a 2 pane option and loads my partitions on my other drives so I'm really happy and relieved since the file manager is better than expected. Now if you've used Dolphin or Nautilus which are both crappy in my mind with icons and keyboard shortcuts which I despise for being touch focused in my mind and this was more like thunder or Nemo that are great file managers and has a search function built in.

The Mabox screenshot page at distrowatch to save you all who want to see some images time searching. https://distrowatch.com/gallery.php?distribution=mabox

Tyler Tech install and going over the OS after install. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dW52qfLIeDQ

I removed Mabox because it had to many control panels for the panel the desktop the OS. They need to take and combine and simplify the control panels into one or 2 instead of the mess of them they have scattered. The panel has to side panels with controls also but you use a different theme and the one I ended up liking didn't have the side panels with the controls so it kind of killed half the experience.

If their going to make a distro out of a bunch of parts then they might want to consider for ease of use to reverse engineer the panel and side panels and openbox so they all are added into a single or 2 control panel so the user isn't searching the entire system for a single setting that has a stranged naming setup.

Tint2 should be replaced or worked on for just the Mabox so it's tweaked in language that users will understand easier. It's like tint2 was so strange trying to understand the designers use of vocabulary like they made up some terms from other non panel programs and didn't go back and fix the naming so no programmers would know immediately what they meant. The tint2 is also it seems made for smaller monitors so most of the themes seem tiny even at 1080P and old people who's vision is not 2020 will have a tough time finding stuff since the icons and font are really small like for something around a decade ago before HD.

It's a good idea but the parts must be brought together so they are user friendly which at this time it's a clusterfuck of settings and settings area's. I know this could be done 10x better given the time put in and if someone that is skilled creating control panels and applets and updating the current themes that are boring and need tweaking so also a programmer with art talent to make everything work together better with colors for OS and panel and openbox all working like a single theme not 3 themes with 3 setting area's so one green is light green then 2 others of differing shade since opening all 3 themes settings could be a pain in the ass if the user even thinks to do that.

I think MX linux thought of this and executed it well with thier right click openbox fluxbox and debian all working together. Likely removing all the extra controllers made it the speed demon it is which Mabox is not with noticable pauses between clicking and program fully open is seconds not miliseconds like it should be with the level of tech out today stuff should be instant or not noticable by users.
