That depends on what you want to get out of Linux. It's not supposed to be a drop in replacement for Windows.
Objectively he has made many very poor decisions over the years. Not even judging linux as a windows competitor.
systemd
Systemd was the work of Lennart Poettering. Honestly, the biggest problem with it people parrot around is that it doesn't follow the linux KISS philosophy. I do like the IDEA of unit files, and timers seem like a better way to handle running tasks than cron. However, it's just too monolithic.
