I apologize for my retarded title from yesterday, and wanted to repost this rant with a better one. While I disagree with Linus on the premise of getting vaccinated, he is within his right to keep that kind of drivel out of the mailing list. It's for discussion on the kernel and nothing else. I say keep all politics out of technology, as it's a cancer to everything it touches.

That depends on what you want to get out of Linux. It's not supposed to be a drop in replacement for Windows.

Objectively he has made many very poor decisions over the years. Not even judging linux as a windows competitor.

Systemd was the work of Lennart Poettering. Honestly, the biggest problem with it people parrot around is that it doesn't follow the linux KISS philosophy. I do like the IDEA of unit files, and timers seem like a better way to handle running tasks than cron. However, it's just too monolithic.
