Systemd was the work of Lennart Poettering. Honestly, the biggest problem with it people parrot around is that it doesn't follow the linux KISS philosophy. I do like the IDEA of unit files, and timers seem like a better way to handle running tasks than cron. However, it's just too monolithic.
exactly. If it breaks, the entire OS does.
this is also why you should regularly make a Clonezilla backup and clean your system.
