I have my ~/.inputrc's "editing-mode", "show-mode-in-prompt", and "vi-{cmd,ins}-mode-string" configured. This works nicely, but the thing of it is I can't figure out how to place "vi-{cmd,ins}-mode-string" to a place in my PS1 prompt where I'd like it to be. Is there an option which controls the placement of this output? Thanks.
