I have been using Openshot, and it really is quite capable, but a lot of time I simply want to cut out a clip from something and going through the export sequence I seem to end up with huge files that are way bigger than the source was. If I am simply missing something in the Openshot settings and I can export in the same format as the source, please fill me in. Thanks in advance.

Sounds perfect for grabbing clips. I now have it downloaded and I have run into a "little snag". I don;t know what to do with the file now- lol.

If you know how to proceed, would you be so kind as to please guide me through this? Been a while since I have manually installed anything on Linux (Ubuntu), and I generally find a walk through to do so and I don't see one for this. I have now isolated it in its own folder, and I think now I use the right click in folder method for opening the terminal - correct?

Edit to add: Here it is open in terminal. Kind of lost now....
