Why there are so many versions of Linux?

Isn't it better to concentrate all together on one Linux?

Because there can be. Because at some point somebody said I want to make a version thats like This and Does This. Or they said Fuck those guys making this version, theyre privacy invading scumbags. So they forked a version and made a new one. And that happened a couple times. Because it's a large community not led by a single person many different desires and needs arise. And since the code is free as in beer and as in speech anybody can fork some code and make it do whatever they need or want.

Why are there so many varieties of tomato?

Fucking tomatoes... worst berries alive, worse than mulberries and juniper berries.

Open source means lots of people making their own version of "best"

For example Unbuntu is really good for ease of use, Tails is really good for privacy. Others great for old computers without a lot of processing power, others great for coders and those that want to customize, etc.

"Why are there so many governments, wouldn't it be better just to focus on one large one"

How about you lay off the retard juice and get some sunshine, dumbass.

Communists think there should only be one of anything and sometimes none of something. I'm not accusing you of being communist, only this thinking is very tyrannical when a few people think only their vision is correct. I understand your question, I just hope we never have only one operating system. You know who wants this.. <cough>bill gates<cough>

Can we get FASH-OS 14.88 TLS going?

Because it's developed by a bunch of autists who don't get along well with others. Endless fragmentation.
