Can confirm that even Kernel 5.8 adds....odd behaviour. I leave my Mint install on the 5.4 LTS kernel because when I tried to upgrade to the 5.8 I started getting random software crashes and hanging on actions. Not sure what's he major malfunction in it, but I hope the future Mesa drivers can be backported to support 5.4
