I noticed a month or so ago when I installed pysolfc python based solitaire game, that cards were coming up way to often like I'd have 3 of the same card like an 8, but and card can do, showing at game start. Now I'll get the 4th 8 in a minute which shows me that whatever dependency this game uses randomization is fucked up, now if it's fucked up and that same dependency is used for security then that means any security system that uses random numbers to keep stuff secure like a website, a building, the electrical grid or generating stuff for a fob is much more easily hackable with randomization not so random. I'm likely nervous for no reason but what if the guy in charge of the program that does randomization outsourced the work to someone online and they gave him a deepstate or a chinese spy "the person hired" passed on hamstringed program so hacking something important is done relatively in a fraction of the time of something with complete randomization, worse yet what if the thing I noticed it in the kernel so any numbers it uses for the system security are shitty low security numbers. I just figured I'm mention this since people on this sub many are very linux intelligent and if their is a file doing this that person might know instantly the file that does it or might even have the skill to test it out. Just figured I'd drop this info onto the web for just in case purposes. Now please don't get on my ass for being nervous about this, I am no expert but I know when something like 3 of the same number is not a normal thing for every game to have happen all the time and I'm trying to make sure the coding in projects is pure not dirtied like from an enemy country or MS even to sully the reputation of Linux. If I'm wrong great if I'm right then this needs to be fixed fast or maybe the person was drunk when they did the coding and uploaded it, but either way something is not right.

Got this ran the code you see both times same.

dd if=/dev/urandom of=~/urandom_test count=4 bs=1024 4+0 records in 4+0 records out 4096 bytes (4.1 kB, 4.0 KiB) copied, 0.000334367 s, 12.3 MB/s

So you md5sum the resulting files and they are the same?

What's your "uname -a" kernel version?

Definitely something wrong, but it's not the kernel as published. I would do a fresh install.

5.4.39-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed May 6 10:36:44 UTC 2020 x86_64 GNU/Linux

md5 is broken.

The alphabet bois got tools to generate hash collisions for various file changes.

It's broken for encryption, but if you think your random generator is that broken then use sha256.

Downloading Archlabs right now. I'm thinking maybe debian or a stable fork distro for my apt type install since the ubuntu based ones are kind shitty lately.

All the Linux distros are ideologically fucked from upstream cuckoldry, and Debian is fucked from internal cuckoldry as well.

If you use an AMD graphics card try OpenBSD, as it's the only uncucked modern OS I'm aware of.

I ended up installing LMDE with cinnamon, that got cinnamon replace with XFCE in like 20 minutes when I found the weather app was garbage with API bullshit and the open windows list "I hate grouped" had grouped by default and tried to find a replacement and 3 were grouped and not one without grouping since I like to see without moving the mouse what is open exactly but I guess cinnamon is running on a windows 7 fanboy look not the XP look that is fundamentally sound without trying to look to modern which is the same reason I have the flat website menu bullshit. I like the pop out of the screen a bit look since it makes the controls simpler to find so they don't blend into the background and you have to look harder for a function.

I was already thinking that and since I just did some work on the drives I had downloaded a few distro images onto my backup drive and I have given Zorin a long time use to be fair and it's stable I just don't like it that much and this is Manjaro so I always have an arch distro installed so time to find a new one that I like and can install easily since with only wireless a simple gui installer with help is a must at my experience level at this time.

tried to open the test doc in my home directory and it is listed as unknown file format though it think is was supposed to be a text file of some sort.
