So you md5sum the resulting files and they are the same?
What's your "uname -a" kernel version?
Definitely something wrong, but it's not the kernel as published. I would do a fresh install.
5.4.39-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT Wed May 6 10:36:44 UTC 2020 x86_64 GNU/Linux
md5 is broken.
The alphabet bois got tools to generate hash collisions for various file changes.
It's broken for encryption, but if you think your random generator is that broken then use sha256.
Downloading Archlabs right now. I'm thinking maybe debian or a stable fork distro for my apt type install since the ubuntu based ones are kind shitty lately.
All the Linux distros are ideologically fucked from upstream cuckoldry, and Debian is fucked from internal cuckoldry as well.
If you use an AMD graphics card try OpenBSD, as it's the only uncucked modern OS I'm aware of.
I5-6400 cpu, also bsd kind of would be new territory to me without grub and not ready to make that jump at this time. My bios I was reading is a legacy with a hybrid efi so not sure refind would operate right I've checked a year ago and this is strange but 64 bit but the Dell onboard intel hd530 graphic must have the Dell driver that is 32 bits when running windows on a 64 bit system so it's one jimmy rigged unit that does run well just no powerful enough for me. Gorilla grunt Tim Talor ooo ooo MORE POWER. It's cool here on Poal since Tim Allen is a conservative.
I ended up installing LMDE with cinnamon, that got cinnamon replace with XFCE in like 20 minutes when I found the weather app was garbage with API bullshit and the open windows list "I hate grouped" had grouped by default and tried to find a replacement and 3 were grouped and not one without grouping since I like to see without moving the mouse what is open exactly but I guess cinnamon is running on a windows 7 fanboy look not the XP look that is fundamentally sound without trying to look to modern which is the same reason I have the flat website menu bullshit. I like the pop out of the screen a bit look since it makes the controls simpler to find so they don't blend into the background and you have to look harder for a function.
I was already thinking that and since I just did some work on the drives I had downloaded a few distro images onto my backup drive and I have given Zorin a long time use to be fair and it's stable I just don't like it that much and this is Manjaro so I always have an arch distro installed so time to find a new one that I like and can install easily since with only wireless a simple gui installer with help is a must at my experience level at this time.
