Used both extensively now. Aria2 worked great until it didn't. Just started erroring out so tried Pyload. WOW! So much better. Configuration so much easier and so much more powerful. No more cron jobs or scripts. All can be done through the GUI.

Example you can set as many speed schedules as you want. - Half your bandwidth during waking hours - All your bandwidth while you sleep - 75% of your bandwidth in the maybe awake / maybe asleep overlap hours Etc.

Freaking awesome!

Download manager for what? Do you have limited bandwidth?

Do you download a fuck ton of stuff? I'm just thinking that I've never really needed a download manager before. Just curiou why you use one.

Yeah like for example after years, starting watching Survivor again. Found a torrent with 22 seasons and it is like 80 gigs. I find that much easier and less work than downloading by episode or even by season.

And yes, bandwidth is limited in speed but unlimited in transfer (can download as much as I want). So it is preferable to download at night vs. streaming everything.

And I do a lot of show / movie swapping with friends in a similar situation so it is nice to have hard drives full of movies/shows/music.

Also since it runs on an always on raspberry PI, need something to manage the downloads. That way can turn off PC when not at it instead of leaving it on to finish a download.

Nice. Sounds like you got your setup figured out.

I've always had speeds that would allow for 15-20 MBs down, so grabbing an 80 GB season would typically go pretty quickly (especially if using certain other sites..)

That's probably why I've never needed a download manager.

I understand 100%. I had speeds like that once upon a time. Then moved to an area which did not and still does not. Sucks, but have to adapt.
