Lincoln and John F. Kennedy are a lot alike.

  • Both have mythic reputations.
  • Both made many terrible decisions.
  • Lincoln's bad choices of generals prolonged the war; Kennedy's bad judgment on the Cuban missile crisis almost started WW3
  • Both were assassinated.
  • Both were greatly loved and greatly hated.
  • Both were master orators.
  • Both served during times of crisis.

A reminder:

What percentage of whites in the Confederacy owned niggers? Once you answer that, answer this, if the secessionist resolutions and Constitutions were specifying “slavery” as a cause, then (((who))) was citing that as a reason?

The majority of white citizens of the Confederacy had plenty of reasons to hate Lincoln, and slavery was nowhere near the top of the list.
