It may be wrong, but it doesn't matter if they have more force than you and thus can exact their will. You need an equal amount of force in order to protect yourself.
What's right or wrong doesn't matter in nature, might makes right.
In raw nature, that's absolutely correct. I'm referencing civilization which is a construct, yes. Civilized people can work with each other on level ground and liberty can exist for individuals. I don't believe we currently live in truly civilized times.
I'm not disagreeing with the sentiment, just warning that one shouldn't base their security on what is "lawful," because laws are only as powerful as the will to enforce them.
It's why the current U.S. government is getting away with basically wiping its ass with the constitution; they don't care about what's written, in fact they can just rewrite it. Nothing will stop them besides raw force.
Ain't that the truth.
