After the "open letters" the employees there published that were aimed at Musk, I see no reason why he was required to be particularly nice to them.

I was laid off twice from the semiconductor industry. It was a shock to my system, seeing thousands of American jobs going to SE Asia.

Maybe if my boss had apologized though...
