I use saddle soap to clean everything up nice, hit it with small applications of neats foot oil until the leather is a little darker than it's original color, wait for it to go back to its original color then hit it with grizzly grease water and snow protectant.
That sounds like a nice combo. Unfortunately none of that is available where I’m at, just little cans of colored shoe polish.
Can you hunt or fish? Refined fish oil or animal fats work well. And you can use bees wax as a water protection
I have beeswax, that’s part of my mix at 25%. It’s interesting, slow to really absorb compared to an oil, a week in its very different from fresh applied, but the supple but not floppy feel is really something I haven’t achieved before with a variety of things, honestly I really cant believe how nice it feels in the hand. Did some Walmart work gloves that might as well been cardboard, like a new pair of driving gloves.Haven’t tried fishing here yet, but it’s on the list when I get the super priority list pared down. Hunting, yes, but not easily here, it’s complicated.
