If you need to wait for government permission to kill yourself then you are mentally shot.
There are silent, painless methods that can be sourced locally and exceedingly easily. You don't need to wait for permission from your government. Really, what are they going to do, imprison your corpse?
I don't have much info on the subject but my assumption for the "Permission" part is that maybe with assisted suicide, the government may allow differences for insurance payouts etc...
Whereas an individual who just kills themselves might not pass anything onto their beneficiaries?
Just tossing out straws. I do agree though, something so basic does not require a permission slip in general. It's probably rooted in financials would be my guess.
Its probably clear that this whole "assisted suicide" thing really is just a "I don't want to do it myself" kind of thing.
Anyone who is serious about ending their life.. Will find a way to end their life.
