Here is what's almost good about that. Under the supreme courts ruling, gender is literally anything. It doesn't have to be sexual identity because they didn't want to offend people who are otherkin and whose gender identity is that they are an animal. So the supreme court said fuck it.. the only way to appease these people is if gender can mean anything. But if it means anything then you can describe your gender as anything.
For example, I could say my gender is Christian. Now you can't discriminate against me for my Christian gender. Now religion is already protected but you can see where we can take this. I could say my gender is White Nationalist, and as a part of expressing my gender it includes advocating for white interests, and I would like to be open with my gender expression at work.
It actually takes gender back to its original meaning, which was yet another generic word equal to category or type. English has several of these words that I can't remember off the top of my head and gender used to be one of them. So if gender is protected under the equal rights act and can be applied to anything, then all of these groups that had been asymmetrically excluded from that act now get equal protection, if they can recognize the significance.
