There's a movement called LGB drop the TQ+. Not everyone on the alphabet soup is this crazy trust me. I may be downvoted for being a lesbian, but I absolutely hate this madness. I don't associate with this horseshit. I don't buy the gender ideology bullshit, and I think that Trans and the Q-slur movement is trying to take advantage of the vulnerable. The most vulnerable groups are 0-19 year olds (I know the age of majority is 18, but 18 and 19 y/os are still teens and they don't gaf if you're legally an adult, because they'll still take advantage of legal teens just as much as they take advantage of minor teens.), 60+ seniors, and disabled people (ie: autistic people, downs people, any physical disability. I have autism and they groom and manipulate autists). Based South Koreans even acknowledged that most of the Trans people that are taken advantage of are either Gay/Lesbian or Autistic, or Both. Screw the alphabet soup.

LGB drop the T was one of the subs that got banned on reddit a few months ago. I think it had +14k members at one point. IMO the lesbians and gays need to speak out against the trans and whatever people because when the straights do it, it's "homophobia". I'm beginning to think we need to use some of the left's tactics against them and have someone from "an oppressed class" make criticisms because if an average white straight speaks out, it is automatically dismissed.

Honestly, it's just a bullshit acronym. I wouldn't bother associating with it too much. I feel like it is used mostly for political purposes. With gay marriage being legal, trans rights is just the next logical step. I say good for them. As a Libertarian and American, it seems wrong to tell someone how to live their life.

I consider myself a right leaning Libertarian. As long as someone isn't hurting others, they can live however they want. My dream society is an anarcho-capitalist one where private businesses run the country and the free market will act as a form of checks and balances.

That seems fairest - that people can define themselves how they want to. You shouldn't necessarily have to be associated with people you don't want to be, that includes on the basis of sexuality, race or religion.

I try to remind myself that people shouldn't be lumped together because I don't want to be lumped in or have assumptions made about me because of characteristics that I might share with someone else, we might be completely different people. I'm guilty of it though, typecasting and stereotyping, I guess it's unavoidable but hopefully mostly controllable or at least you can learn and be aware when you're doing it.

Regarding the acronym - the gradual adding of extra letters reminds me of salami politics, where people keep getting subdivided into groups, which in turn makes me think of communism. There seems to be an internal contradiction where people are slowly atomized into ever more granular pieces in the stated aim of bringing us together. In this context that means that there would need to be an almost infinite number of letters to cover all the possible permutations of sexuality.

It would be great if it went the other way and people came together more. But then where do you draw those lines? No easy answers I guess. Your community has to do what it needs to do to get equal rights and protections but if it comes at the cost of your individuality then there can be downsides, one of them being the potential manipulation by bad actors for political gain, in this case education and awareness is the best defense.

I think on this issue regularly, but usually on the matter of race, although there is a parallel with your situation that gives me food for thought. Thank you for answering though, I didn't mean to pry into your personal situation. I'm a recent arrival just browsing the new category and probably wandered in to the wrong saloon so I'll leave you to discuss the matter in peace.
