It's not the "old ways". What they really are is "God's ways". God did not create the Earth as a system that required man's interference to survive. God created the Earth as a system to survive despite man's interference in it. One need only look at Pripyat (Chernobyl) to see that God will heal the land once man has moved on from his ungodly and unnatural disasters caused by our arrogance. God and the land are one. It is we who are the fools.
