I planted them in 5 gal pots about a year ago. They are on a drip system. Keeping the peppers alive in the winter is easy. Summer is the challenge. When it gets triple digits out. I was getting peppers all last summer and fall. I ended up wasting a lot of the batch's of peppers, because I couldn't use them fast enough. Thats why I got into fermenting. I also string them up and dry them in the sun.
