Bummer, I played the live and hoped for the third and/or fourth verses ... no dice. A great rendition though. I just never realized there were other verses until reading this. As it stands now, it makes very little sense (at least to me). I was hoping the additional lyrics would clear that up some. Thanks though ... like I said, a great live version. Super orchestra!

Thanks for that. This song has long been one I enjoyed for how it made me feel since the lyrics are abstract enough to allow you your own images. It makes sense he related a lot with Dylan, being more of a poet than just a songwriter. I've always viewed this song much like an impressionistic painting, a word picture open to interpretation. I admit that even after all this time I doubt the story I receive is exactly the same he envisioned. And I assume that's what he wanted.

The more I read about it, the more I think you're correct. He's been purposefully vague about it throughout.
